Web Development

NyInc
New York Inc was designed to be similar to an existing sister site, www.njand.com, but with a community emphasis.
The following requirements were paramount:
- Community Portal: articles are provided by the audience. Incoming articles are voted on by the audience. Bad articles and comments are automatically hidden after enough negative votes.
- News Publishing: staff writers will publish articles on a regular basis to one or more channels.
- Resource Directories: Users can suggest new resources with editors screening submissions.
- Social Networking: User defined groups, and user profiles.
- Extendibility – It will be important that what we develop here will allow the other ScheinMedia websites to be retrofitted to use some of the same features and content. (ie. Blogs/news, single sign-in for users to post to any of the websites?)
The site was architected with the open-source content management system, Drupal. Drupal provided all of these features and then some. The site was installed and configured within a few days time.

The AOL Developer Network
This has been a "day job" project for the past three years as I worked at AOL, Inc. This is a public facing web site that runs on the open-source content management system, Drupal.
